"Trust is not a one-time win acts- It is a continuous journey through every day actions not one time" -Loren Sanders

Trust is Fragile

The journey of building trust on your team is more than a check box to tick and move on. It is an effort that requires daily attention. It is the glue that holds teams, organizations and relationships together.

Trust is built on small consistent actions, reinforcing integrity, transparency and reliability.

As a leader, when you SHOW UP CONSISTENTLY, delivering on your promises and communicating openly, you create a culture where trust is built.

TRUST IS FRAGILE.

One mistake, one broken promise, one failure of your own accountability and you begin to watch it unravel.

Trust is not static.

Trust evolves.

Leaders, must stay in tune with the team's needs and adapt to changing expectations driven by what they are responsible for delivering while caring for the people who make it happen.

What worked yesterday might not work today.
Communicate well, be open, and listen to feedback from your team.

Trust is about the relationship.

Relationships require effort, honesty and care.

Leaders who know this, inspire trust and drive success. If this is challenging - here are some tips that can help:

  1. Be consistent- Your actions and decisions should be reliable. The consistency you create builds your team's confidence in you.

  2. Communicate openly- Transparency is the key. Share wins and challenges. When there is pain, let them know you feel it too and they can count on you during this time.

  3. Follow Through- Keep your promises - broken promises = broken trust.

  4. Show Empathy- Understand your team's needs and concerns. When you care you build deeper connections.

  5. Be Accountable- Own your mistakes and take responsibility.

Check your Self Orientation - Are you self-focused or others focused? The self-focused leader will have a harder time building sustainable trust, no matter how inspirational they are.

How are you doing with trust on your team? If it is something you are struggling with, reach out and let's talk.
